Tribute To A man With a Heart of Love-Late Gp Captain ME Amanyeiwe:

I met Gp Capt ME Amanyaiwe in the Equipment Supply Depot at the NAF Base Ikeja while searching for spare parts of my Unit’s Super Puma Helicopters. He was then one of the most Senior Officers in charge of Supply in the NAF. On hearing me pronounce my name, he was full of smile. He then went ahead to explain the literally meaning of my surname to two other officers with him. The next Sunday I went to greet him after our morning Mass and again he was happy to see me. He greeted me warmly and introduced me to his family. Our Sunday, Sunday meeting in the church led me to seeking his permission to be the Spiritual sponsor of my marriage in 1995. Thereafter, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful parental relationship with him and his wife. They were there always for us through all the teething challenges usually associated with marriage and we grew gradually under their guidance. My family and I are like their biological children and we are going to miss Daddy greatly. But we are consoled because we know that he lived a wonderful life and left huge legacies. Daddy Rest In Peace in the bosom of God’s Love.
