TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED UNCLE. In obedience to the words of St Augustine Bishop of Hippo; "In this life we are all mortal and the very day which shall be the last for all of us on earth to every man or woman at all times is uncertain. In infancy there is hope of childhood and from childhood to youth. From youth to manhood and from manhood to old age. Whether these hopes are achieved or realised are uncertain. However in old age there is no other period to transit. In old age, ailments proliferate". Daddy, we thank God that you successfully passed all these stages triumphantly. You came. You saw. You conquered. Scripture prescribed Seventy years for the virtuous. Eighty for the very strong, but you made a glorious Eigthty-seven which by all measure is not a mean age. To Almighty God be the glory both now and forevermore. Amen. You have run a good race here on earth as a true and devoted Catholic to the core. As you journey back to your Creator, may His angels with wide-outstreched arms welcome you into Paradise which you laboured to enter on the last day. Amen. Adieu Uncle. Sleep on until the resurrection morning when the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God will meet to part no more. Amen. Your Carm Carm.
